Türkçe eğitimi ve öğretiminde, soru kavramına ölçme ve değerlendirme açısından yaklaşılmakla beraber bu kavramın eğitim psikolojisiyle olan bağlantısı üzerinde gereğince durulmamıştır. Sorun yazılı anlatım olduğunda soru kavramı nedense önemini yitirmiş ve ikinci plana atılmıştır. Oysa Türkçe eğitiminin altyapısını oluşturan yazılı anlatıma karşı öğrencileri güdülemede, yani yönlendirmede öğretmenin sınıf içerisinde yönelteceği soruların özel bir önemi vardır. Ancak mevcut uygulamalar bu gerçeğin önemli ölçüde göz ardı edildiğini ortaya koymakta ve bu hususta ders kitaplarının oldukça yetersiz olduğu gözlenmektedir. Türkçe eğitiminde, yazılı anlatımı sorularla yönlendirme açısından tasvirle ilişkilendirerek incelemeyi ve yeni bir bakış açısı ortaya koymayı hedefleyen disiplinler arası nitelikteki bu çalışmada sorun, örneklerle somutlaştırılmaya çalışılmıştır. MEB’e bağlı ilköğretim okullarında 2004-2005 eğitim-öğretim yılında okutulmuş olan ilköğretim birinci ve ikinci kademe Türkçe ders kitapları yöntem yönünden incelenerek eksikler belirlenmiş, öğretim programıyla ders kitaplarının örtüşme derecesi karşılaştırılmış, yazılı anlatımda soru sormanın ve yönlendirmenin önem ve gereğine işaret edilmiştir.
