Abstract:

Personality traits and impression management tactics are issues that meet the common denominator and offer clues about the behaviors of the individual within the social structure. Therefore, it is seen as important to determine the relationship between the personality characteristics of Physical Education and Sports Teachers and impression management tactics. The overall aim of the study is to examine the relationship between the personality traits and impression management of Physical Education and Sports Teachers working in Kütahya and Afyonkarahisar province. The universe of the research is the physical education and sports teachers working in formal education institutions affiliated with meb's Kütahya and Afyonkarahisar provincial center and districts. The sample group consists of 150 (One Hundred and Fifty) Men, 85 (Eighty-Five) Women, Total=235 Physical Education and Sports Teachers who are already working in formal education institutions in kütahya and Afyonkarahisar provincial center and districts in the 2020-2021 academic year. In the study, the "On-Item Personality Scale" developed by Gosling and his colleagues (2003) and adapted to Turkish by Atak (2013) was used to determine the personality traits of the participants as data collection tools. The "Impression Management Scale" developed by Bolino and Turnley (1999) and adapted by Turkish Edition, Tatar and Sahin (2006) was used to determine the impression management used by the participants. Correlation and regression analysis were used to determine the level of relationship between descriptive and descriptive statistical methods and variables in the analysis of the data. As a result; It can be said that Physical Education and Sports Teachers exhibit predominantly responsible personality traits and use the Self-Endearment Tactic by introducing their qualities from impression management. In addition, meaningful relationships were found between Personality Traits and Impression Managements
