Abstract:

In the study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the psychological resilience of mothers and their children's social skills and the factors affecting social skills. For this purpose, the research was designed as a study in which the predictive correlational research model and the decision tree from the classification models were used. The sample group consisted of 371 children aged 48-72 months and their mothers. "General Information Form", "Adult Resilience Scale" and "Preschool Social Skills Assessment Scale" were used as data collection tools. Pearson Correlation Coefficient, simple linear regression and CHAID algorithm were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the research, it was seen that there was a moderately positive and significant relationship between the psychological resilience of the mothers and the social skills of their children, and the psychological resilience of the mothers explained 19% of the change in the social skill levels of the children. As a result of CAHID analyses, school type and mothers' ages on children's initial skills; fathers' education levels, mothers' ages, children's ages and genders on children's academic support skills; fathers' education levels, mothers' ages and children's ages on children's friendship skills; children's age on children's ability to manage their emotions; On the other hand, it was seen that the educational status of the mothers and the age of the children were effective on the social skills of the children.
