Boş zaman, bireylerin sahip oldukları ihtiyaçların karşılanması açısından önemli bir gerekliliktir. Özellikle çalışanların yenilenme ihtiyacı bu gerekliliği açıkça göstermektedir. Buradan hareketle bu çalışmanın amacı, Çanakkale’deki kamu ve özel sektörde çalışan personelin boş zaman tutumunun incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın evrenini, Çanakkale şehir merkezindeki çeşitli kamu kurumu ve özel sektör çalışanları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini tesadüfî yöntemle seçilen kamu sektöründen 90 erkek (Yaş: 32,84±5,79) ve 103 kadın (Yaş: 31,22±5,33), özel sektörden 107 erkek (Yaş: 30,64±6,73) ve 106 kadın (Yaş: 29,16±6,52) olmak üzere toplam 406 personel oluşturmaktadır. Anket verileri araştırmacı tarafından çalışanlar ile yüz yüze görüşerek toplanmıştır. İstatistiksel analiz sonuçları p<0,05 düzeyinde anlamlı bulunmuştur. Kamu ve özel sektör çalışanlarının boş zamanlara ilişkin tutumlarının istatistiksel olarak anlamlı biçimde farklılaştığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca kamu personelinin boş zamanı olumlu kullanma düşüncesi ve haftalık boş zamanın yeterliliği boş zaman tutumunu %16 açıklarken özel sektörde ise bu sonucun %15 olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, günlük boş zaman süresi, haftalık boş zamanın yeterliliği, boş zamanı olumlu kullanma durumu ve boş zamanı değerlendirme biçimi kamu ve özel sektör çalışanlarının boş zaman tutumları açısından belirleyici olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Bu unsurların yeterli düzeyde olmasının çalışanlar açısından bir gereklilik olduğu söylenebilir.
Free time is an important requirement for individuals to meet the needs they have. In particular, the need for renewal of employees clearly indicates this need. From here, the purpose of this work is to examine the attitude of the staff working in the public and private sector in Çanakkale. The universe of research is formed by various public institutions and private sector employees in the city centre of Çanakkale. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 406 staff, including 90 men (age: 32,84±5,79) and 103 women (age: 31,22±5,33), 107 men (age: 30,64±6,73) and 106 women (age: 29,16±6,52). The survey data was collected by the researcher by face-to-face interviews with the staff. The results of the statistical analysis were significant at the level p<0,05. Public and private sector employees’ attitudes towards their leisure hours have been statistically significantly differentiated. In addition, the opinion of public staff about the positive use of their free time and the sufficiency of their weekly free time explains their free time attitude by 16%, while in the private sector, this result is 15%. As a result, it has been understood that the daily vacancy time, the sufficiency of weekly vacancy time, the state of positive use of vacancy time and the way of evaluating vacancy time are determining in terms of vacancy attitudes of public and private sector employees. It can be said that having these elements in sufficient levels is a requirement for employees.
