Kazanımı ailede başlayarak okulda devam eden ve nesillerin geleceğini şekillendirmede etkili olan değerler eğitimi, ders kitaplarıyla desteklenmeli ve öğretmenlerin de desteğiyle öğrenciler tarafından içselleştirilebilir hale getirilmelidir. Eğitimin temel materyali olan ders kitaplarının değer eğitimine uygunluğu bu bağlamda oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmada 5.sınıf Türkçe ders kitabının değer eğitimi bakımından öğretmen görüşlerine göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma deseni ile yürütülen incelemede Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından belirlenen 10 kök değer esas alınarak görüşme soruları (8 soru) hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri Zonguldak ilinde görev yapan 16 gönüllü Türkçe öğretmeninin yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formunu doldurması ile elde edilmiştir. Yapılan betimsel analiz sonucunda Türkçe öğretmenlerinin görüşlerine göre 5.sınıf Türkçe ders kitabında yer alan metinlerin 10 kök değeri içerdiği belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlere göre ders kitaplarında 10 kök değere ek olarak “empati, hoşgörü, çalışkanlık, merhamet, temizlik, barış, alçakgönüllülük, mutluluk, araştırmacılık, geleneksellik” gibi değerlerin de verilmesi gereklidir. Öğretmen görüşlerine göre ders kitabında yer alan etkinlikler 10 kök değeri aktarmada niteliksiz ve yetersiz kabul edilirken görseller ve hazırlık çalışmaları soruları nitelikli ve yeterli görülmüştür. Öğretmenler, yıllık ve günlük planın işleyişini süre bakımından 10 kök değerin aktarımına uygun bulmuşlardır. Öğretmenlerin çoğu değerlerin tamamen veya kısmen örtük şekilde verildiğini ve değerlerin öğrencilerde farkındalık yaratarak davranışlarına yansıdığını belirtmişlerdir. Bu çalışmanın sonuçlarından hareketle Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer alan etkinliklerin değerleri aktarmadaki niteliğinin ve yeterliliğinin arttırılmasına yönelik çalışmalar yapılması ve 10 kök değerin yanı sıra alt değerlerin de yer aldığı metinlerin seçilmesi önerilebilir.
Values education whose achievement begins in the family and goes on at school and which is effective in shaping the future of generations should be supported with textbooks.It should be interiorized by students with the help of teachers.In this sense,the accordance of textbooks which are the basic materials of education with value education is extremely important.In this study,the research of the fifth grade Turkish textbook in terms of value education according to opinions of teachers has been aimed.In the research which has been carried out with qualitative research design,interview questions (8 questions) have been prepared by predicating 10 root values which have been determined by The Ministry of National Education. The data of the research has been obtained with sixteen volunteer Turkish Language teachers who work in Zonguldak by their filling the semi-structured interview forms. As a result of the descriptive analysis,according to opinions of Turkish Language teachers,the texts which take place in the fifth grade Turkish textbooks include 10 root values.According to teachers,it is necessary that in addition to ten root values,some values such as empathy, tolerance, industriousness, compassion,cleanliness,peace,modesty, being researcher, traditionalism take place in textbooks.According to opinions of some teachers,while the activities taking place in textbooks have been found unqualified and insufficient in narrating ten root values,visual things and the questions of preparation studies have been found qualified and sufficient. The teachers have found the process of annual and daily plan suitable for narrating ten root values in terms of duration.Most of the teachers have stated that values have been totally or partly implied and values have affected students’ behaviors by creating awareness. As a result of this study,studies should be carried out to increase the qualification and sufficiency of the activities taking place in textbooks in narrating the values.Also,the texts in which subvalues take place in addition to ten root values should be selected.
