The aim of this study is to determine the level of root values specified in the Primary School Turkish Curriculum in the narrative texts in the primary school Turkish textbooks and to obtain teachers' opinions on these values.In this case study, the values in the narrative texts in Turkish textbooks were examined with the method of document analysis. When the primary school Turkish textbooks were examined, it was concluded that the root values were increased at each grade level and included in the texts, but the frequency of the values included in the texts was not balanced. For another purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 primary school teachers. The answers given by the teachers were analyzed using the content analysis method. According to the data, after the practices for values education, all of the teachers stated that there was a change in most of the students, especially in younger age groups. Teachers had the view that various problems such as violence in the school and in the society could not be prevented only with the values education given at school, and the family should also be employed.
