Abstract:

The museums are one of the most ideal places that contribute to the enrichment of students’ learning experiences in the school. In this study, the social information course was carried out to determine the impact of teaching practices based on museum education on students and to study their views on this subject. The research was conducted in the 2018-2019 educational year, with students of 5th grade studying in 2 high schools located in the Battalgazi and Pütürge districts of Malatya. The research has been used by the research model of the karma method. In this context, in the phase designed according to the experimental design of the research, he participated in two groups of teaching practices, including a experimental and control group. Under the teaching practices, a experimental group took students to the Malatya Museum and conducted events called "My Work" and "Find in the Museum" determined by the researchers. The second phase of the study was designed as a situation study and the method of conversation was used. The research found that the teaching practices based on museum education in the framework of the experimental group "Culture and Heritage" have been effective in enhancing student academic achievements, strengthening subjects and ensuring learning durability.
