Yabancı Dil Olarak Türkçe Öğretimi C1 Ders Kitaplarında Hedef Kültüre Yönelik Metinlerde Değerler

Abstract:

Ders kitapları yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde en fazla kullanılan materyal durumundadır. Çoğunlukla dersler, program dâhilinde ders kitabı takip edilerek işlenmektedir. Yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminin etkin ve geçerli olabilmesi açısından ders kitaplarının belirli standartlarda hazırlanması beklenir. Bu standartlardan biri de öğretilen dilin kültürüne yönelik metinlere yer verilmesidir. Değerler, kazandırılmak istenen temel düşünce ve prensipler olarak tanımlanabilir. Öğretimin amaçlarından biri de öğrencilere hedeflenen değerleri kazandırmaktır. Yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılan metinlerdeki değerler uluslararası öğrencilerin Türk kültürü ve Türk insanı algısı için oldukça önemlidir. Çalışmada hedef kültüre yönelik metinlerin seçilmesinin nedeni, uluslararası öğrencilere Türk kültürüne yönelik bilgi ve değer aktarımında bu metinlerin başat rol üstlenmesidir. Çalışmada yurt içinde ve yurt dışında kullanım sıklığı sebebiyle Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğretim Seti C1 Ders Kitabı’ndaki hedef kültüre yönelik metinler örneklem olarak alınmıştır. Değer tespiti, Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından hazırlanan kök değerler dikkate alınarak yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğretiminde hedef kültüre yönelik kullanılan metinlerde bazı değerlerin sıklıkla yer almasına karşın bazı değerlerin daha az bulunduğu görülmüştür. Hedef kültüre yönelik birkaç metinde öğrenende olumsuz Türk, Türkiye algısı oluşturabilecek unsurlar tespit edilmiştir.

Teaching books are the most used material in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language. Most of the lessons are processed by following the curriculum within the program. In terms of the effectiveness and validity of Turkish teaching as a foreign language, the teaching books are expected to be prepared at certain standards. One of these standards is to include texts addressed to the culture of the taught language. Values can be defined as the basic thoughts and principles to be obtained. One of the objectives of teaching is to provide students with targeted values. The values in the texts used in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language are very important for international students' perception of Turkish culture and Turkish people. The reason for the selection of text to the target culture in the study is that these texts play a key role in the transfer of knowledge and value to the Turkish culture to international students. Due to the frequency of use in and abroad in the study, the text addressed to the target culture in the C1 Curriculum of the Yunus Emre Institute's Turkish Teaching Set was taken as a sample. The value assessment was made taking into account the root values prepared by the Ministry of Education. The results of the study have shown that some values are often included in the texts used for target culture in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language, although some values are fewer. In several texts toward target culture, the negative Turkish, Turkish perception elements in learning have been identified.

The course books are the mostly used materials for teaching Turkish as a foreign language. The courses are generally conducted via following the course books inside of the curriculum. In terms of being effective and valid for teaching Turkish as a foreign language, it is expected that the course books are designed with the determined standards. One of these standards is to contain some texts for target culture of taught language. The values can be defined as the basic thought and principles that are aimed to be taught. One of the aims of teaching is to gain target values to students. The values given in texts which are used to teach Turkish as a foreign language are quite significant for international students’ perceptions on Turkish culture and Turkish people. In this study, the main reason of choosing texts for target culture is these texts’ vital role on presenting information and values of Turkish culture to international students. In this study, the sample is determined as the texts for target culture in the course book named Institute of Yunus Emre Turkish Language Teaching Set C1 due to the common use of it both in country and in abroad. The determination of values is concluded as considering the basic values prepared by Ministry of National Education. At the end of the study, it is seen that some of the values have often been used in texts for target culture to teach Turkish as a foreign language whereas some of the values have rarely been seen in those texts. In some texts for target culture, it is also stated that there have been some elements that might cause negative perception on learners in terms of Turkish people and Turkey.
