Abstract:

Non-school learning has a very broad understanding and theoretical framework in the field in the summer, but it has also been one of the topics that are emphasized in the updated teaching programs. In particular, 4 of the 18 special objectives of the 2018 Social Information Teaching Program are emphasized on learning outside the school and the achievements that can be achieved by this learning. However, under the headline of the teaching program, it was noted that teachers should take advantage of the outside school environments. From this point on, the main purpose of the research is to make an assessment according to the opinions of the class teacher candidates towards learning outside the school. It is believed that the determination of the ideas of the class teacher candidates on this subject will carry the characteristic of preliminary examination/need analysis for the training that will be given to the teachers who are in charge in the name of the teacher candidates to be aware of the profession before they begin. The research is based on the quality research approach. The study’s data collection tool is the “Out-School Learning Opinion Form” prepared by researchers. In the analysis of the answers that teachers candidates give to open end questions, content analysis and visual analysis techniques have been used together. The research was conducted with class teacher candidates studying at a state university in the spring period of the 2017-2018 educational year. The study included 51 women and 28 men, including 79 volunteer class teachers. When the findings were examined, it was found that a significant proportion of teaching candidates defined out-of-school learning as "out-school education-learning" and "living and effective learning". The purpose of learning outside of school is to provide effective teaching, reality in education and to link what is learned with life. When teaching candidates were asked to give examples to the learning environments outside the school, the museums, historical areas and official institutions were ranked first. Class teacher candidates believe that out-of-school learning activities are effective in developing the observation, research and empathy skills included in the 2018 Social Information Teaching Program, while they believe that the values of love, respect and compassion included in the same program can also be developed through out-of-school learning activities.
