Abstract:

The Turkish language is the fifth largest language in the world with about 250 million speakers. When political and social reasons are added to this situation, Turkey is not only attracting the interest of foreigners and increasing the number of speakers every day. People who learn and teach our language also need to use the dictionary in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. The dictionaries are the boxes that hide the word treasure of a language. The richness of the word in these boxes must be met with those who learn and teach that language. You need a foreign language dictionary to learn a foreign language. The dictionaries to be used in the teaching of Turkish also take an important role in the point that these treasures are useful to people. People who learn Turkish as a foreign language have the right to learn Turkish in the best way, to work with the dictionaries prepared for themselves. The source, field and general network scans found that our dictionaries prepared for Turkish teaching to foreigners were limited. Such a large language needs much more qualified, comprehensive and functional dictionaries. This need is not possible to be removed at once, but at least people working in the field need to create awareness. For this purpose, ten dictionaries were selected from the hundreds of the studied dictionaries, for teachers who teach Turkish and students who learn. In the study, accessing the images and basic information about these dictionaries, the data obtained included the short introductions of the dictionaries in light of the data obtained. It is believed that the work done could contribute to Turkish teachers and students.
