Abstract:

The Impact of Participation in the Educational Games Event on Children's Balance, Reaction and Attraction
2019

Abstract:

This study aims to study the values of equality, reaction time and flexibility of 7-8-year-old male primary school students who regularly participate in educational games. The study, Kayseri Kızılören Osman Kulaç IOO, participated 28 male students in 7-8 years of age as volunteers. While 14 students forming the experimental group participated in the educational game activity, 14 students forming the control group did not participate in the educational games activity. The participants, with the hand and foot reaction test reaction square, the balance test with the flamingo balance tool and the flexibility test with the photosel pre-test tests were carried out. After eight weeks, the final test measurements of the control group were made with a trial group participating in three days of training games a week. The obtained data was presented as an arithmetic average and standard deviation. In comparison of independent groups, indepedent sample t test and paired sample t test were used in comparison of dependent groups. The meaning level is p<0.05 . According to the results of the latest test measurement between the test and control groups, statistically significant differences were observed between the hand reaction, foot reaction, balance and flexibility test values (p<0.05), while there was no significant difference between the pre-test values (p>0.05). While statistically significant differences were observed between the test group’s pre- and post-test hand reaction, foot reaction, balance and elasticity test values (p<0.05), there was no significant difference between the test group’s values (p>0.05). Participation in educational games has been shown to have a positive impact on balance and flexibility in children aged 7 to 8 years of age in the periods of hand and foot reaction. It is recommended that educational institutions determine the educational games activities for children, build parks where primary school students can play educational games by municipalities, and that children in school age participate as much as possible in educational games activities.

Effect Of Participation In Educational Games Activity On Balance, Reaction and Agility In Children
2019

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of participation of male primary school children between the ages of 7-8 in educational games on their time of balance and reaction. 28 male students between the ages of 7-8 and studying at a primary school in Kayseri participated in the study voluntarily.14 of the students participated in the educational game activities 3 days a week as the experimental group, and other 14 was the control group and they did not participated in the educational game activities. In the study, hand and foot reaction test, balance test and agility test were performed as pre-test and post-test. After the pre-test measurements, the students participated in the educational games 3 days a week for 8 weeks and the post-test measurements were taken. Statistical notation was stated by arithmetic mean and standard deviation. Independent t test was used in comparing independent groups, and paired sample t test in dependent groups. Significance level was taken as p<0.05. Significant differences occurred in post-test measurements of hand reaction test, foot reaction test, balance test and agility test between the experimental and control groups (p<0.05). No difference was found between the pre-tests. While a difference was found between the pre-test and post-test measurement values of the experimental group in hand reaction test, foot reaction test, balance test and agility test (p<0.05), no difference was observed in the control group (p>0.05). Participation in educational games is thought to have a positive effect on the hand and foot reaction times, balance and agility of the children at the ages of 7-8. Especially educational institutions should determine educational game activities for children, parks where primary school children can play educational games should be built by municipalities, and children at this age group should be provided to participate in such activities.
