The study was conducted with 86 children with special needs and 86 with a total of 172 parents with healthy children. The study used the short psychological well-being scale, the Oxford happiness scale and the well-being scale as data collection tools. In the study, parents with a healthy child and a child with special needs were studied using the t test in independent samples where they were statistically significantly differentiated in terms of the scores they obtained from the psychological stability, well-being and happiness-related scores and the impact size for the t test results was calculated. The analysis was carried out using the PASW Statistics 18 program. The research finds that parents with special needs have a lower mental well-being, happiness and well-being score than parents with healthy children have a lower mental well-being, happiness and well-being score.
