In this article, the amendments made regarding the trials with the Law No. 7251 and the Regulation on the Conduct of the Trials by Transmission of Sound and Video in Civil Procedures and the relationship of these changes with the principle of directness were examined. Although participation in trials through audio and video transmission is included in the Code of Civil Procedure, it has not been implemented for many years. With the amendment made in the law and regulation, participation in the hearings through audio and video transmission has started to be implemented. In the study, firstly, the principle of directness, audio and video transmission legislation, audio and video transmission procedure and the positive and negative aspects of audio and video transmission were examined. Then, the recent development and trend of e-trial in civil proceedings are emphasized. In the last part of our study, the changes made in the Code of Civil Procedure, the evaluation of the changes in the law, the problems and solution proposals are mentioned.
