Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to adapt the General Good Making Scale Short Form (GIOÖKF) to Turkish, validity and reliability studies. The study was conducted on the basis of data obtained from 306 (65.4) women and 162 (34.6) men who studied at the University of Trabzon in the 2017-2018 academic year. In the study, Personal Information Form, Life Doyle Scale, GIOOCF, Positive and Negative Emotional Scale and Need Doyle Scale were used as data collection tools. The obtained data was evaluated by verifying factor analysis, correlation analysis and t test analysis for independent samples. Factor analysis results confirmed that the scale has a single-factor structure. In the framework of the determination of the standard-dependent validity of the GIOÖKF, university students have been found to have a meaningful relationship in the positive direction between the general well-being levels and life satisfactions, positive emotional conditions and needs satisfactions while negative emotional conditions and negative sensational relationships are found to have a meaningful relationship in the negative direction. According to the reliability studies, the internal consistency ratio and structural reliability of the scale were .84, while the two semi-test correlation was .77. As a result, it can be said that GIOÖKF is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to measure the overall well-being of university students.
