The examples of the study, aimed at determining the impact of high school students' family ties and the situation of violence in the family on self-respect, form a high school with a high socio-economic level with a high socio-economic level in Bornova district of İzmir. For the data of the study, the Rosenberg Identity Respect Scale, developed by Morris Rosenberg, and the Family Relations Scale developed by Demirel and Erdamar, were used to determine the students' situation of domestic violence and demographic information. The study found that students’ self-esteem and family relationships were close to the high, they saw low levels of violence in the family. The student’s self-esteem scores did not vary by gender, the mother and father’s educational level (p<0.01, p<0.001) and the socio-economic level (p<0.001) increased, the self-esteem scores also increased, and this difference was statistically important. It has been found that the state of violence in the family affects self-esteem, that students with high self-esteem see less violence than their families, and that this situation is important in the statistical analysis (p<.001). Family ties have been determined to decrease as the class level of students rises, i.e. as their age increases (p<0.001) and have no influence on self-esteem (p>0.05).
