Abstract:

To increase the level of investment in the country, savings need to be properly channeled to investment. Factors affecting individual portfolio managers’ valuable investment preferences should be objectively analyzed and attempted to guide individual investors in order to increase investment in the economy of the country in which we participate. This study is aimed at identifying the factors that determine the value investment preferences of individual portfolio managers and determining the importance of these factors. The method of the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is a multi-critical decision-making method. The main mass of the research is the individual portfolio managers working in the banks located in Kayseri. Data was obtained from seven individual portfolio managers selected by random method in April 2021. The research results were analyzed using the Expert Choice 11 program. According to the results of the study, the highest weight criterion among the main criteria affecting individual portfolio managers’ valuable investment preferences was the criterion of 59.5% and the “general state of the economy”. The highest weight criterion among the sub-criteria was 28.2 percent and the “investment facilitating corporationalization” criterion.
