Abstract:

Purpose - This study aims to emphasize the importance of recreational activities organized for employees and to reveal the relationship between recreational activities and the state of silence of employees. Method - In accordance with the purpose; demographic characteristics, recreational expressions and the scale of organizational silence have been applied for the survey. The results of the relationship between the silence of the workers and recreational activities have been identified and reflected in the tables. The research was conducted by 388 individuals working in the service sector. As a result, the relationship between the organizational silence of the staff involved and recreational activities was reflected in the study, taking into account the demographic characteristics of the staff involved. Discussions - The silence behaviors change depending on the participation of employees in recreational activities. It ensures that employees are struggling, determined and open to innovation by raising their recreational activities and motivations to not show a silent behavior. The low participation of employees in recreational activities causes employees to prefer to stay quiet for a variety of reasons.
