Bu araştırmada “spor bilimlerinde okuyan öğrencilerin sigaraya başlama nedenleri ve bağımlılık düzeylerinin incelenmesi” amaçlanmıştır.Araştırmanın evrenini Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Üniversitesi Spor bilimleri fakültesinde okuyan öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem gurubunu ise burada okuyan ve sigara kullanan öğrencilerden tesadüfi yöntemle belirlenen 175 bireyden oluşmaktadır.Araştırmada veriler kuramsal çerçeve literatür taraması ile, alandaki veriler ise, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan sosyodemografik anket formu, (Uysal ve ark,2004) tarafından Türkçe ’ye uyarlanmış, geçerlilik güvenilirliği yapılmış olan “Nikotin Bağımlılık Testi” kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Anketler araştırmacı tarafından örneklem gurubuna konu hakkında bilgi verildikten sonra gönüllülük esasına göre sigara içen bireylere doldurtulmuştur. Bu şekilde araştırmaya, 54 kadın, 121 erkek olmak üzere toplam, n. (175) birey katılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler istatistik işlem için uygun bilgisayar ortamına aktarılmıştır. İstatistik olarak tanımlayıcı istatistiklerden frekans(f), yüzde (%), Descriptive Statistics, Chi-Square (X2), Crosstabulation ve Pearson Correlation Tests işlemleri yapılmıştır. Karşılaştırmalar için anlamlılık düzeyi α=0,05 olarak belirlenmiştir.Sonuç olarak, katılımcıların arkadaş çevresi ve kendi istekleriyle sigaraya başladıklarını, çoğunlukla 1-3 saat aralığında ve günde yaklaşık bir paket sigara içtiklerini, bağımlılık durumlarının ise, çok az düzeyde olduğunu, günlük sigara içme adeti ile sigara bağımlılığı arasında 0,05 manidarlık düzeyine anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğunu, devlet yönetiminin sigara ile mücadele için çıkardığı yasa ve yaptırımların çoğunlukla etkili olmadığını söyleyebiliriz.
This study aims to "study the causes of smoking and the levels of addiction of students studying in sports sciences."The universe of the study is formed by students studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. The sample group consists of 175 individuals identified by random method from students who read and smoke.In the study, the data were collected using the theoretical framework literature scan, and the data in the field, the sociodemographic survey form prepared by the researcher, (Uysal and ark,2004) adapted to Turkish, validity reliability made using the "Nikotin Addiction Test". The surveys were filled with individuals smoking according to the principle of volunteering after the researchers were given information on the subject to the sample group. In this study, a total of 54 women and 121 men, n.175 individuals participated. The obtained data is transferred to the appropriate computer environment for statistical processing. Statistically identifiable statistics from frequency(f), percentage (%), Descriptive Statistics, Chi-Square (X) 2 Crosstabulation and Pearson Correlation Tests. The significance level for comparisons is defined as α=0,05. As a result, we can say that the participants began to smoke with their friends and their own desires, they often smoked about one pack of cigarettes in the interval of 1-3 hours and a day, and their addiction conditions were very low, there was a meaningful relationship between daily smoking and smoking addiction at 0.05 levels, and the laws and sanctions issued by the government for the fight against smoking were not mostly effective.
In this study, it was aimed to "examine the reasons for starting smoking and addiction levels of students studying in sports sciences".The population of the research consists of students studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. The sample group consists of 175 individuals determined by random method from the students who study here and smoke.In the research, the data were collected by using the theoretical framework literature review, and the data in the field were collected using the sociodemographic questionnaire prepared by the researcher and the "Nicotine Addiction Test", which was adapted to Turkish by (Uysal et al., 2004). After the researcher gave information to the sample group about the subject, the questionnaires were filled by the smokers on a voluntary basis. In this way, a total of 54 women and 121 men, n. (175) individuals participated.The obtained data were transferred to the appropriate computer environment for statistical processing. Frequency (f), percentage (%), Descriptive Statistics, Chi-Square (X2), Crosstabulation and Pearson Correlation Tests were performed from statistically descriptive statistics. The level of significance for the comparisons was determined as α=0.05.As a result, the participants started smoking voluntarily and with their friends, mostly in the range of 1-3 hours and smoking about one pack a day, their addiction status was at a very low level, there was a significant 0.05 significance level between daily smoking habit and cigarette addiction. We can say that there is a relationship and that the laws and sanctions enacted by the state administration to combat smoking are mostly not effective.
