Abstract:

With technological developments, the use of mass communications means in our country and worldwide has become widespread. These tools that enter the lives of children as well as adults are a rejectable fact that they are influenced by children. Especially the fact that the television is in every house, the eye-to-hearted and watched have made the children unavoidable to be influenced by television. Since there are no programs for children in the television broadcasts, the television broadcasts have a negative impact on the development of the child. Especially in recent television series, the excess of scenes containing the element of violence and the broadcasting of these scenes while the child is on the screen, in addition to the children's impact, causes the violence to normalize and the child to become sensitive to violence. In addition to violence scenes, other negative content damages the development of the child. Many studies have found that the negative content of television is harmful to the development of the child. In this article, television has revealed and discussed the aspects that negatively affect the physical, mental, moral and social-emotional development of children. It also includes national legislation for the protection of children from the damage of public communications. In this regard, in the framework of the national legislation, the publisher’s responsibility, while the publications made by the publisher without fulfilling this responsibility, can leave profound traces on children. In this direction, the violence shown on television, the struggle and the use of the argo language and the scenes will be seen by the children, and the importance of not exposing them to watching these scenes is highlighted. This article emphasizes the importance of publisher’s social responsibility in the sense and in accordance with the legislation, and discusses the tasks of parents in protecting their children from the harmful effects of television.
