2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında, hâlihazırda Yükseköğretime Giriş Sınavı (YGS) ve Lisans Yerleştirme Sınavı (LYS) adı verilen, iki aşamalı bir sınav siteminden oluşan üniversite giriş sınav sistemi değiştirilerek Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı (YKS) adını almıştır. Üniversite giriş sınav sisteminin sadece ismi değil aynı zamanda sınavdaki oturum sayısı, sınav tarihleri, soru sayıları ve soruların branşlara göre dağılımları da değiştirilmiştir. Buna göre, sınav Temel Yeterlilik Testi (TYT) ile Alan Yeterlilik Testi (AYT) olmak üzere iki oturumdan oluşmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, bu çalışmanın amacı lise 12. sınıf öğrencilerinin değişen sınav sistemi ile ilgili olarak görüşlerini ortaya çıkarmak ve bu çerçevede üniversite giriş sınav sistemini değerlendirmektir. Çalışma, nitel bir araştırmadır ve veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Çalışmanın verileri içerik analizi tekniği kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre eğitim-öğretim dönemi içerisinde yapılan değişikliklerin öğrenciler üzerinde zaman zaman kaygı ve strese neden olduğu fakat sınavın ileri bir tarihte uygulanmasının öğrenciler tarafından olumlu karşılandığı söylenebilir. Öğrencilerin olumlu ve olumsuz olarak algıladıkları diğer durumlara çalışmanın bulgularında yer verilmiştir.

In the 2017-2018 educational year, the university’s entry exam system, which is now called the Higher Education Introduction Exam (YGS) and the Licensing Placement Exam (LYS), is changed by changing the university’s entry exam system, which is already called the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Not only the name of the university entrance exam system, but also the number of sessions in the exam, the exam dates, the number of questions and the distribution of questions according to branches. The exam consists of two sessions: the Basic Qualification Test (TYT) and the Field Qualification Test (AYT). In this context, the purpose of this study is to expose the views of high school 12th grade students on the changing exam system and to evaluate the university entrance exam system in this context. The study is a qualitative research and the data is obtained through a semi-configured interview form. The data of the study was analyzed using the content analysis technique. According to the results of the study, the changes made during the education and teaching period can be said to cause anxiety and stress on students from time to time, but the application of the exam in a later date is positively welcomed by students. The results of the study are included in other situations that students perceive positively and negatively.

In the 2017-2018 academic year, the two-stage university entrance examination system, called the Entrance Examination for Higher Education (YGS) and the Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS), was changed. The changing examination system is called as the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS). Not only the name of the university entrance examination system, but also the number of sessions in the exam, exam dates, number of questions and the distribution of questions by branches have been changed. According to this, the exam consists of two sessions: Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) and Field Proficiency Test (AYT). In this context, the aim of this study is to reveal opinions of the 12th grade high school students about the changing examination system and to evaluate the university entrance examination system within this framework. The research is a qualitative study and the data was obtained by semi-structured interview form. The data of the study were analyzed using content analysis technique. According to the results of the study, it can be said that the changes made  during the education period caused anxiety and stress on some students but the application of the examination at a later date was welcomed positively by the students. In the findings of the study, other conditions that students perceived as positive and negative were included.
