Abstract This article presents itself as an excerpt from the institutional research of the Group on Education, Museum, Culture and Childhood (GEPEMCI), aimed at investigating the relationship between children from zero to six years old with museums and cultural centers in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The main objective is to encourage reflections on the presence of babies and their families in museums and cultural spaces. The Rio de Janeiro Art Museum (MAR), located in downtown Rio de Janeiro, promotes the educational action “Babies at MAR”, for babies aged between zero and two years old. From the understanding of babies having the right to access cultural heritage, reflections are made on the access of the little ones to the cultural institution, art as an aesthetic experience for babies, and different proposals from this art museum directed at little ones are presented.
