Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının algılanan problem çözme becerilerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada betimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, Kocaeli ve Sakarya Üniversiteleri Spor Bilimleri Fakültelerinden, Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmenliği, Spor Yöneticiliği, Rekreasyon ve Antrenörlük programları ile Eğitim Fakültelerinden Türkçe, Matematik, Fen Bilgisi, Sınıf Öğretmenliği ile Psikolojik Danışma ve Rehberlik programlarında öğrenim gören 406 öğrencidir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Heppner ve Petersen (1982) tarafından geliştirilen ve Şahin, Şahin ve Heppner (1993) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanan “Problem Çözme Envanteri” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde, cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeylerine göre farklılık olup olmadığının belirlenmesi amacıyla Bağımsız Grup t-testi, LYS puan türlerine göre ise Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, öğretmen adaylarının algılanan problem çözme beceri puanları açısından orta seviyenin altında oldukları, cinsiyetin belirleyici bir faktör olmadığı ve eşit ağırlık alanındakilerin, sözel ve özel yetenek alanlarına göre daha iyi durumda oldukları ancak diğer alanlar arasında bir fark olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The purpose of this research was to examine the perceived problem solving skills of prospective teachers. In the study, a screening model was used from descriptive research methods. The sample of the research was 406 students from Kocaeli and Sakarya Universities Sports Sciences Faculties, Physical Education and Sports Teachers Education, Sports Management, Recreation and Coaching programs and Education Faculties with 406 students in Turkish, Mathematics, Science Education, Classroom Teaching and Psychological Counseling and Guidance programs. "Problem Solving Inventory" developed by Heppner and Petersen (1982) and adapted to Turkish by Şahin, Şahin and Heppner (1993) was used as data collection tool in the research. Independent group t-test was used to determine whether there was any difference according to gender and class levels in the analysis of the data, and ANOVA was used according to LYS score types In the study, it was concluded that teacher candidates were below the middle level in terms of perceived problem solving skill scores, that gender was not a determining factor and that those in equal weight were in better condition than verbal and special ability areas, but there was no difference between the other fields Keywords: Teacher candidates, perceived problem solving skill, LYS field.
