Many studies on personality traits, socialization levels, and emotional labor were carried out and the importance of these concepts for organizations were emphasized. However, it was observed that there were not many studies about the effect of personality traits and socialization level on emotional labor. The purpose of this study is to reveal the effects of employees' personality traits and socialization levels on their emotional labor behavior strategies. The data were collected via a questionnaire from the population which consisted of employees of boutique hotels in the province of Nevsehir and statistically evaluated. In order to test the hypotheses, regression analyses were carried out and it was determined that organizational commitment had a significant and negative impact on emotional dissonance while neuroticism had a significant and positive impact on emotional dissonance. In addition, the effect of organizational acceptance and job satisfaction which are socialization levels on emotional effort and the effect of socialization as a whole on emotional effort were found to be positive and significant. The findings of the study are expected to contribute to tourism literature due to there are few studies on this subject.
