Bu çalışmada ortaokul müdürlerinin iletişim yeterliklerinin öğretmen ve yönetici bakış açısından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Samsun ili Asarcık ve Kavak ilçelerinde ortaokullarda müdürlük görevinde bulunan 9 müdür ve ortaokullarda görev yapan 10 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinde olgubilim (fenemenoloji) deseninde tasarlanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşme formunun pilot uygulaması yapılarak araştırmanın amacına uygunluğu ve soruların cevaplanabilirliği test edilmiştir. Araştırmaların gerçekleştirilmesi için Samsun İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğünden gerekli izinler alınmıştır. Çalışmaya katılacak olan okul müdürü ve öğretmenlerle iletişime geçilip randevular oluşturulmuştur. Görüşmeler 20 ile 25 dk aralığında gerçekleşmiştir. Araştırmada, okul müdürleri ve öğretmenlerin görüşlerine göre okul müdürlerinin iletişim becerileri, iletişimden beklentileri, okul müdürlerinin iletişimi geliştirmek için yaptığı çalışmalar, okul müdürleri ile iletişim sürecinde yaşanan problemler ve çözüm önerileri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Görüşme formu kullanılarak elde edilen verilerin analiz edilmesinde betimsel içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Betimsel analiz, katılımcı görüşlerinin doğrudan aktarıldığı ve sebep sonuç ilişkisi içerisinde değerlendirildiği analiz tekniğidir. İçerik analizi ise, birbirine benzeyen verilerin tespit edilip ortak tema oluşturularak anlaşılır bir şekilde açıklamaya dayalıdır. Çalışmanın sonucunda; iş aksatma/ tembellik sorumluluktan kaçınma, dolaylı ifade, gecikmiş geri bildirim, yanlış anlama, düşünce çatışması, dinleme ve ifade eksikliği, ani çıkışlar, itirazlara olumsuz tepki, çıkar odaklı anlayışların iletişimi olumsuz etkilediğine ulaşılmıştır.
This study is aimed at examining the communication skills of the high school managers from a teacher and managing point of view. The examples of the study are made up of 9 directors and 10 teachers who are in charge of the management of high schools in the districts of Samsun or Asarcık and Kavak. The research is designed in the phenomenology model in the research methods. A semi-configured conversation form developed by the researcher as a data collection tool has been used. The experimental application of the interview form has tested the suitability of the purpose of the research and the answerability of questions. The necessary permissions have been obtained from the Samsun State Education Directorate for the conduct of the research. The school director and teachers who will participate in the study were contacted and appointments were established. The interviews took place between 20 and 25 minutes. The study, according to the opinions of school managers and teachers, tried to identify the communication skills of school managers, the expectations from communication, the work of school managers to improve communication, the problems experienced in the process of communication with school managers and the solutions suggestions. In the analysis of the data obtained using the interview form, the visual content analysis method has been used. Imaginary analysis is the analysis technique in which the participants’ opinions are transmitted directly and assessed within the causal result relationship. The content analysis is based on a clear explanation of similar data by identifying and creating a common theme. The result of the study is that the avoidance of liability, indirect expression, delayed feedback, misunderstanding, conflict of thought, lack of listening and expression, sudden outcomes, negative response to objections, interest-oriented understanding have a negative impact on communication.
In this study, it was aimed to examine the communication competencies of secondary school principals from the perspectives of teachers and administrators. The sample of the study consists of 9 principals working as principals in secondary schools in Asarcık and Kavak districts of Samsun province and 10 teachers working in secondary schools. The research was designed in phenomenology design in qualitative research methods. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was used as a data collection tool. The interview form was piloted to test its suitability for the purpose of the research and the answerability of the questions. Necessary permissions were obtained from Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education for the realization of the research. School principals and teachers who would participate in the study were contacted and appointments were made. The interviews lasted between 20 and 25 minutes. In the study, according to the opinions of school principals and teachers, it was tried to determine the communication skills of school principals, their expectations from communication, the studies carried out by school principals to improve communication, the problems experienced in the communication process with school principals and their solution suggestions. Descriptive content analysis method was used to analyze the data obtained using the interview form. Descriptive analysis is an analysis technique in which the views of the participants are directly conveyed and evaluated in a cause and effect relationship. Content analysis, on the other hand, is based on identifying data that are similar to each other and explaining them in an understandable way by creating a common theme. As a result of the study, it was found that work disruption / laziness, avoiding responsibility, indirect expression, delayed feedback, misunderstanding, conflict of thought, lack of listening and expression, sudden outbursts, negative reaction to objections, interest-oriented understandings negatively affect communication.
