Aralık 2019’un son günlerinde Çin’in Vuhan kentinde pnömoni vakalar görülmeye başlanmıştır. Kısa süre sonra Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ) genetik analizler sonucunda hastalığa neden olan virüsün, koronavirüs ailesinin yeni bir üyesi olduğunu, yeni virüs SARS-CoV-2 ve hastalık COVID-19 olarak isimlendirildiğini duyurmuştur. 2020 yılının Mart ayında dünyada koronavirüs (SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19) pandemisi ilan edildi. Sosyal mesafe, sokağa çıkma kısıtlamaları ve evden çalışma, dünyanın birçok ülkesinde haftalardır yaşamı belirliyor. Sağlık, ekonomi ve sosyal yaşam başta olmak üzere, bu pandemiden en çok etkilenen alanlardan biri de yükseköğretim sistemi olmuştur. Pandemi günlerinde yükseköğretimde çevrim içi eğitim araçları ve uzaktan eğitimin ön plana geçtiği kitlesel eğitimin önem kazandığı bir dönem yaşanmaktadır. Pandemi nedeniyle dünya genelinde yüz yüze eğitimler durdurulmuş ve birçok yükseköğretim kurumu, pandemi sürecinde eğitimi kesintiye uğratmamak için büyük çaba göstermiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, yeni korona pandemisi ile mücadelede geçmişten ders çıkartarak yükseköğretimde yeni normalleşme sürecine dair öneriler sunmaktır. Araştırmada durum analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Mevcut çalışmada geçmiş pandemiler, mevcut durum ve gelecek perspektifte dünyada tartışılan senaryolar çerçevesinde 2020 güz döneminden itibaren hangi eğitim modellerinin uygulanabileceği incelenmiştir. Ayrıca eğitimin dışında üniversitenin araştırma ve toplumsal katkı boyutlarını da dikkate alarak farkındalık, eğitim ve destek faaliyetlerini kapsayan bütüncül bir yaklaşımla önerilerde bulunarak gelecekte yapılacak çalışmalara ışık tutulmaya çalışılmıştır.
In the last days of December 2019, pneumonia cases have begun to be seen in the Chinese city of Vuhan. Shortly later, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the virus that caused the disease was a new member of the coronavirus family, the new virus was named SARS-CoV-2 and the disease COVID-19. In March of 2020, a worldwide coronavirus pandemic (SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19) was announced. Social distances, out-of-road restrictions and work from home have been determining life for weeks in many countries of the world. One of the areas most affected by this pandemic, including health, economic and social life, has been the system of higher education. In the days of the pandemic, a period in which high school has gained importance with online education tools and mass education where remote education is on the forefront. Because of the pandemic worldwide, face-to-face education has been stopped, and many higher education institutions have made great efforts to prevent their education from being interrupted during the pandemic process. The aim of this research is to provide suggestions on the new normalization process in higher education by taking lessons from the past in the fight against the new corona pandemic. In the study, the method of analysis was used. The current study has studied what educational models can be applied from 2020 in the framework of past pandemies, current situation and scenarios discussed in the world in the future perspective. In addition to education, considering the dimensions of the university’s research and social contribution, a comprehensive approach that covers awareness, education and support activities has been suggested to keep light on the work to be done in the future.

Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19) pandemic was declared in the world in March 2020. Social distance, curfews and working from home have been determining life in many countries of the world for weeks. One of the areas most affected by this pandemic, especially health, economy and social life, was the higher education system. During the pandemic days, we are experiencing a period in which online education tools and mass education gained importance in distance education. Due to the pandemic, face-to-face trainings have been stopped worldwide and many higher education institutions have made great efforts not to interrupt education in the pandemic process. The aim of this research is to draw up lessons from the past in the fight against the new coronavirus pandemic and to present suggestions for the new normalization process in higher education. The situation analysis method was used in the research. In the current study, it has been examined which training models can be applied as of 2020 fall semester within the framework of past pandemics, current situation and scenarios discussed in the future perspective. In addition, it was tried to shed light on future studies by making suggestions with a holistic approach covering awareness, education and support activities, taking into account the research and social contribution dimensions of the university.
