Abstract:

The coronavirus pandemic is recognized as the greatest global health disaster experienced by humans since World War II. A new infectious respiratory disease, first seen in Wuhan, China, at the end of December 2019, emerged and this disease was named COVID19 (coronavirus disease 2019) by WHO (World Health Organization). The COVID19 epidemic has led to the death of more than 4.5 million people in the world and to unemployment, inflation and loss of welfare in developed and developing countries. The virus, which does not have a definite cure yet and continues to spread rapidly, creates serious pressures on the economy, even if it decreases thanks to the measures taken by the states by declaring the state of emergency.

In our study, the successful measures taken by the Azerbaijan state since the detection of the first COVID 19 case and the effects of coronavirus on GDP growth, inflation and unemployment in the Azerbaijan economy will be analyzed and information will be given about the economic development package accepted for the revival of the Azerbaijani economy, which was affected by the pandemic.
