Abstract:

Culture is like the “black box” of humanity’s knowledge. Everything that is hidden in a society’s cultural treasure throughout history reflects its language and thought. The language is the most important instrument that culture uses during its representation. Therefore, the close relationship between language and culture is always becoming one of the topics of interest for researchers. Because language and cultural studies reveal the accumulation of knowledge in many areas such as history, geography, politics, religion, economy, art, literature, psychology, lifestyle. The concept chosen as the subject of the research is the word salt. Salt is one of the most important ingredients that is vital and necessary for the continuation of human life. Since ancient times, mankind has benefited from salt in all areas of life. This study aims to explore the importance of salt in the Turkish-Russian language and culture. The concept of salt will be addressed in the context of the material, spiritual values, beliefs of the Turkish and Russian society. The word of salt will also be given in the word of salt. The research will determine the place of salt in the world of language, culture and thought of Turkish and Russian communities. In addition, similarities and differences will be revealed in the language and cultural axis of both societies in the canyons related to salt. The method of research is a comparative cultural science. Theoretical information, practices and assessments on the method of cultural language will be included.
