Abstract:

The aim of this study is to develop the "Ideal School Management Scale" as a valid and reliable measurement tool according to teacher perceptions. In this context, firstly, an item pool was created by scanning the relevant literature. The created items were rearranged in line with the opinions received from academicians and teachers. A pilot application was made with a 91 item draft scale. Data were collected from different participant groups in exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. In the exploratory factor analysis, data were collected from 302 teachers working in primary and secondary education in the Akhisar district of Manisa province in the 2021-2022 academic year, and from 261 teachers in the confirmatory factor analysis. After all validity and reliability studies, it was observed that the scale consisted of 39 items in a three-factor structure. The data obtained from the confirmatory factor analysis show that the model-data fit of the scale is at an acceptable level. In light of the findings obtained in the validity and reliability studies, it can be said that the scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to determine teachers' perceptions of the ideal school administrator.
