Health services which have a high significance in ensuring and protecting welfare in human life and quality of life are an important indicator of the level of development in countries. In this study, it is purposed to measure the efficiency of the state university hospitals which provide Health Services in Turkey. Inputs and outputs were weighted by using the AHP method. Then, Data Envelopment Analysis was used to determine the efficiency of the hospitals. 35 State university hospitals’ data were used as the decision-making unit. It was concluded that 9 university hospitals were effective in the weighted input-oriented CCR model and 11 university hospitals were effective in the weighted input-oriented BCC model. It was evaluated that 9 university hospitals were efficient in the weighted output-oriented CCR model and 11 university hospitals were effective in the weighted output-oriented BCC model. According to the weighted DEA results, one of the reasons why some university hospitals are not effective is the low number of surgeries. In addition, it can be said that the reason why a few university hospitals are evaluated as ineffective even though their inputs are high are ineffective because of their low output.
