Hastalar genellikle haklarını çok fazla bilmemekle beraber haklarını elde etmek için de yardıma gereksinim duyarlar. Hastanelerde yaşanan birçok sorunun sebebi de bilgi eksikliğinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Hem hastalar hem de sağlık personeli hasta hakları konusunda yeterli bilgiye sahip değillerdir. Her iki taraf için de hasta haklarının tam olarak bilinmesi, hastaların kendine güven kazanmasını, sağlık personelinin de daha dikkatli olmasını sağlamaktadır. Bunun yanında hastalar sadece haklarını bilmemekle kalmamalı aynı zamanda sorumluluklarını da bilmelidir. Haklarını ve sorumluluklarını bilen hastalar kendilerini daha iyi ifade etmekte ve sağlık hizmet kalitesini arttırmaktadır. Hastaların doktorlara kendisini tam olarak ifade edememesi, hemşirelerin hastalara yardımcı olması ve mesleği gereği hastalarla 24 saat ilgilendiği için çalışmaya hemşireler dâhil edilmiş, hemşirelerin hasta hakları konusunda bilgi ve tutumları değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma sonuçlarının bazıları şöyledir; Hemşirelerin çoğunluğu hasta hakları ile ilk olarak televizyonda, hastanede, internette karşılaşmıştır. Çalışma grubunun okul yıllarında hasta hakları ile ilgili eğitim almadığı çoğunluğunun mesleği sırasında eğitim aldığı görülmüştür. Çalışma sonuçlarının tamamına bakıldığında da hasta haklarının eğitim sırasında verilmesi, sağlık hizmetlerinde hem hasta hem de sağlık çalışanı için çok büyük önem arz etmektedir.
Patients often need help to obtain their rights without knowing their rights too much. Many of the problems in the hospitals are due to lack of information. Both patients and healthcare staff have not sufficient knowledge about the rights of the patient. The full knowledge of the rights of the patient for both sides ensures that the patients gain confidence in themselves and that the health staff is more careful. Patients should not only ignore their rights but also know their responsibilities. Patients who know their rights and responsibilities better express themselves and improve the quality of healthcare. Patients are not able to express themselves to the doctors in full, the nurses are helping the patients and the nurses are involved in the work 24 hours due to their profession, the nurses are assessed knowledge and attitudes on the rights of the patient. Some of the results of the study are as follows; most nurses first met with the rights of the patient on television, in the hospital, on the internet. The majority of the study group did not receive education on the rights of the patient during the school years. In view of the results of the study, the granting of the rights of the patient during the training is of great importance for both the patient and the healthcare staff in healthcare.

Some of the study results are as follows; The majority of nurses first encountered patient rights on television, in hospitals and on the Internet. It was observed that the majority of the study group did not receive training on patients' rights during their school years. Considering all the results of the study, giving patient rights during education is of great importance for both patients and healthcare professionals in health services.
