The concept of sustainability, which arises from the concerns of fields such as ecology, society and economy for the continuity of social life, is explained with the principles that include the idea of the unsustainability of the existing order and reminding the necessity of change as an action. In addition to all these disciplines, graphic design has started to appear in its sustainability strategy as a profession, by including the cultural element in its sustainability principles of AIGA (The American Institute of Graphic Arts). The cultural element in design is coded as visual, auditory, tactile and perceptual, and it exists in meaning-making practices based on the common agreement of societies. For this reason, the purpose of graphic design is to produce design solutions by combining data in the spiral of culture-meaning-idea and society. According to the result of the minimum damage research in all areas, the designer is evaluated within a wide area that ensures the continuity of sustainability with the appropriate technique, material, application, technology and abilities to solve the problem. This article has been written with the intention of raising awareness of the importance of methods in application areas by examining the ways in which the concepts of sustainability are handled theoretically in graphic design. The purpose of this text is to remind the graphic designer that he has an active responsibility in the vital order and the role of the power of the designer's identity in this structure.
