Bu araştırmanın amacı, Yusuf Asal’ın Patatesspor serisinde yer alan 15 kitabın okunabilirliğinin incelenmesi ve söz konusu kitapların metin düzeyleri ve hangi sınıf seviyeleri için uygun olduğunun tespit edilmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Asal’ın 5’er kitaplık 3 set hâlinde yazdığı Patatesspor serisindeki kitaplar, Ateşman, Bezirci-Yılmaz ve Çetinkaya-Uzun tarafından geliştirilen okunabilirlik formülleriyle incelenmiştir. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan doküman analizi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma sırasında seride yer alan kitaplarda mizahi ögelerin yanı sıra içeriğe uygun olarak görseller kullanıldığı ve bilinen birçok tarihî kişiliğe, sanatçıya ve bilim adamına yer verildiği görülmüştür. Araştırma sonucunda 15 kitabın Ateşman okunabilirlik formülüne göre “kolay” seviyede, Bezirci-Yılmaz okunabilirlik formülüne göre “ilköğretim” seviyesinde ve Çetinkaya-Uzun okunabilirlik formülüne göre ise “eğitsel okuma (8. ve 9. sınıf)” düzeyinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Okunabilirlik formüllerinden elde edilen verilere göre serideki kitapların ortaokul öğrencilerine önerilebileceği söylenebilir. Öğrencilere kitap önerecek öğretmen ve ebeveynlerin eserlerin okunabilirliğine ilişkin çalışmaları da dikkate almaları önerilebilir.
The purpose of this research is to study the readability of the 15 books in the Patatesspor series of Yusuf Asal and to determine the books in question; the text levels and which class levels are suitable for. According to this purpose, the books in the Patatesspor series, which Asal wrote in 5's library 3 sets, were studied with readability formulas developed by Ateşman, Bezirci-Yılmaz and Çetinkaya-Uzun. The research is conducted by document analysis, which is one of the research methods of quality. During the research, the books included in the series have found that humorous objects as well as images were used according to the content and included many well-known historical personalities, artists and scientists. The study found that 15 books were "easy" according to the fire-readability formula, "preliminary" according to the Bezirci-Yılmaz readability formula, and "educational reading" according to the Çetinkaya-Long readability formula. According to the data obtained from readability formulas, it can be said that the books in the series can be recommended to high school students. Students may be advised that teachers and parents who will recommend books also take into account the work on the readability of works.
