In the second hand clothing market, where consumers are unprotected in terms of fundamental rights due to insufficient control and regulation in Turkey, consumers can perceive high risks. It is important to identify the types of risks consumers perceive in order to improve the market conditions and increase the market potential. In this context, the current study aims to reveal the impact of consumers’ perceptions of risk regarding their purchases from second-hand clothing sites on the intention of buying. The study found meaningful relationships between financial, social, physical, psychological risk, performance and time risk and the intention of buying. While the risk outside of the time risk increases, the intention of buying decreases, the intention of buying increases while the risk of time increases. In addition, it has been revealed that those who do not shop from the second-hand clothes sites perceive a higher risk than those who shop in all kinds of risks. The high risk that non-shopping perceives is physical risk, while the high risk that shoppingers perceive is performance risk. The differences between the risk and the intention of purchase perceived according to demographic characteristics have also been studied in the framework of the study.
