Abstract:

Today, foreign language learning and teaching plays an important role in keeping up with the developing era and in inter-communal communication. Choosing an appropriate teaching material in the classroom makes a great contribution to gaining language skills. Cartoons, which are included in the scope of audio-visual tools, are not only entertainment products, but also a convenient teaching material for students to appeal to more than one sense organ, to be interesting and attractive, to concretize concepts and thus to facilitate learning. In this study, five fasih Arabic cartoons, which are widely watched, were examined and evaluated in terms of content (subject), pronunciation, vocabulary, and reflection of social culture, and the use of these tools in Arabic teaching was discussed in a system. Based on these watched cartoons, it was tried to reveal what kind of cartoons would be more effective and useful at what level, and the importance of the use of cartoons as a teaching material in teaching Arabic as a foreign language and how to use them in the most efficient way was explained. It is thought that this study will contribute and shed light on future research.
