Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between the sensitivities of human rights and emotional intelligence of the teacher candidates. It has also been studied whether the sensitivities of human rights and the levels of emotional intelligence of the teacher candidates show significant differences according to the various variables. The research was carried out in the relational scan model. The sample of the study consists of 515 teachers candidates who study at a state university’s educational faculty. The study used the Human Rights Sensitivity Measure and the Schutte Emotional Intelligence Measure as a data collection tool. The study found a meaningful relationship between sensitivity of human rights and emotional intelligence in a positive direction. The study found that the teacher candidates have high levels of emotional intelligence and human rights sensitivity. It has also been concluded that women’s emotional intelligence and human rights sensitivity levels are higher than men.
