Leaders who have made a turning point in history with their decisions, and who have influenced the fate of their country and society have emerged. One of these leaders was Stalin, who headed the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). The leader of the Communist Party of the USSR, who managed to created a “cult of Stalin” with his presence in the social sphere, has made some political decisions both in the union and in the countries outside in the Union. In the regions where the Soviet Union was active, the cleansing of elements that would threaten Stalin’s rule, socialist ideology and political structure was raised leading figures in society that could have led the spread of the idea of the nation have been liquidated. The policy, which is included in the literature under different nomenclatures such as purge, cleanliness, great terror, and represia, has caused the deaths of thousands of people, including the leaders of society. In countries, people who have made or can make an impact in society in fields such as politics, literature, art and science have been tried and sentenced under this policy. The subject of the study are the names that have been repressed in Azerbaijan and Mongolia. The degree to which these names have an impact in the social sphere after independence, and to what extent they were represented in the urban area was carried out in this research.
