Makedonya toprakları üç parçaya ayrılmış bir coğrafyadır. Günümüzde bu üç parçadan biri olan ve Sırp Hırvat krallığına kalan bölüm bağımsızlığını alarak devlet kurabilmiş ve Kuzey Makedonya Cumhuriyeti adını almıştır. Kuzey Makedonya Cumhuriyeti coğrafi olarak Balkanların kalbi sayılabilecek bir konuma sahip olup 25 bin km²’lik küçük bir ülkedir. İki milyon nüfusa sahip bu ülke Türklerle beraber çok farklı milletten oluşan bir kültür mozaiği özelliği taşımaktadır. Günümüzde, ülkedeki Türk toplumu anadilde eğitim hakkını elde etmiş, yeni yeni ayaklarının üzerine durmaya çalışan Türk edebiyatının yanında Türkçe basın yayın faaliyetlerine de başlamış olmalarına rağmen eğitim başta olmak üzere sorunlarını tam olarak çözememişlerdir. Ülkedeki Türkler kurdukları siyasi partiler vasıtasıyla siyasi sistemde söz sahibi olmaya çalışırken çeşitli sivil toplum örgütleri ile kültürel varlıklarını da devam ettirmeye çalışmaktadırlar. Çalışmada Kuzey Makedonya coğrafyasında yaşayan Türk toplumunun yakın tarihi ve günümüzdeki varlıkları hakkında bilgi edinilmesi amaçlandı. Kuzey Makedonya Türk toplumunda dil ve edebiyatın durumu ile kültürel faaliyetler hakkında bilgi verilerek Türklerin diğer toplumlar içerisindeki durumlarını incelemek de çalışmanın amaçlarından biri oldu. Bu nedenle bir taraftan yazılı kaynak taraması yapılırken diğer taraftan da saha çalışması yapıldı. Kuzey Makedonya’nın belli başlı yerleşim yerleri ziyaret edildi. Kaynak kişilerle görüşülerek ses ve görüntü kaydı alındı. Bazı kamu kurum ve kuruluşları da ziyaret edilerek arşiv çalışması yapılmaya çalışıldı.
The territory of Macedonia is a geography divided into three parts. Today, one of these three parts and the remaining part of the Serbian Croatian Kingdom was able to establish a state by taking independence and the name of the Republic of North Macedonia. The Republic of North Macedonia has a geographical location that can be considered the heart of the Balkans and is a small country of 25 thousand km2. This country with two million inhabitants, along with Turks, has a cultural mozaic characteristic of many different nations. Today, the Turkish society in the country has obtained the right to education in the native, and the Turkish literature, which is trying to stand on its new feet, has also begun the Turkish press broadcasting activities, although they have not fully solved their problems, including education. The Turkish people in the country are trying to become a leader in the political system through the political parties they establish, while the various civil society organizations and cultural assets are trying to continue. The study aimed at getting information about the recent history and present existences of the Turkish community living in the Northern Macedonia geography. The study of the situation of Turkish people in the northern Macedonian Turkish society and the status of language and literature and cultural activities was also one of the objectives of the study. This is why, on the one hand, the source scan was done, while on the other hand, the field work was done. Some of the main settlements in North Macedonia have been visited. The source was recorded with the voice and image of the people. Some public institutions and organizations have also been visited to make archive work.
