In this paper, the motifs of folk storytelling partake in the Köroğlu Epic in Yasar Kemal's Three Anatolian Legends is examined by focusing on the author's narration, conveying, and style.Each of these motifs was addressed one by one and revealed to the audience through explanations with related specimens from the book. About the storytelling; the motifs such as entering and epilogue, meaning of the numbers of three and forty, abı-hayat (Adam's ale), poetic tradition, name giving, befriending, ballad, dream and ak sakallı pir (wise old man) aims to explain with considering Yaşar Kemal's unique style of expression.In this study, there are also some impressions that the genres in folk literature are not independent of each other but intertwined.Independent of the other versions, this paper focused on Koroglu epic which is written by Yaşar Kemal.It is shown that how Yaşar Kemal stayed loyal to the tradition of storytelling, folk poetry and the way of approach to epic -which is also affected by the Yaşar Kemal's hometown-by way of Koroglu epics Yasar Kemal version.
