Industry 4.0 is a study conducted to regain the competitive advantage slowly lost due to the ageing population and the decrease in the workforce in Germany. The term was first used at the Hannover Trade Fair in 2011 and the content was revealed in this exhibition. The objective is to ensure maximum output with less energy, raw materials and labour consumption by the smarting of factories. For this purpose, robots, machines, sensors and software are defined as the main elements. As the importance of work has decreased, artificial intelligence, robotic technology and software have become more important. The lack of human involvement in production is described as a revolution, and it is believed that this revolution, as in the previous industrial revolutions, will have a profound impact on our country, as in all countries of the world. To be prepared for these effects and to take the necessary measures, it is important for our society what the subject really means, how well it is known, and in which stage we are related to the subject. In this context, the work was discussed to reveal the facts expressed. In this context, data from academic staff at the Department of Business and Faculty of Engineering at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the University of Kafkas have been collected with semi-structured interview technique. According to the results of the academic industry 4. 0 is defined as an obligation for
