Abstract:

The aim of the study is to examine the stress levels of volleyball referees according to gender, age, seniority and classification. Causal comparison research model, one of the relational screening models, was used in the study. The research data were obtained from 241 volleyball referees who were refereeing in 2022. In the study, "Volleyball Referee Job Stress Scale" developed by Akdağcık and Polat (2022) was used to measure the stress of volleyball referees. It was found that there was a significant difference between the stress scores of volleyball referees according to gender, age, seniority and classification variables. It was determined that stress levels of female referees were higher than male referees, stress levels decreased with increasing age and seniority, and stress levels of "out of class" volleyball referees were higher among the classifications. Researchers can examine the stress levels of volleyball referees by considering different branches (basketball, handball, etc.) and variables (socioeconomic level, educational status, etc.).
