From the first period in which mankind began to appear on the historical stage, it is possible to talk about the debate on the normative assessment of economic activities. In this context, it is known that, along with economic activities, interest and interest practices are in different periods of humanity. Failure is not only a subject of discussion in a philosophical and economic framework, but also an important issue on which the divine religions stand. From the past to the present, interest has come to the top of the most discussed issues of the economy in terms of individual, social and global dimensions both in technical and normative terms. In different periods interest prohibitions or interest-related regulations/restrictions have been included in the economic structure. Interdictions on interest in the historical process are often based on religious, social and philosophical foundations. In every period of history, we observe that restrictions and prohibitions have been brought to interest thought and practice on the basis of philosophical and religious references, and that such discussions continue today. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the development of the interest concept in ancient civilizations, semavian religions, from the Middle Ages to today's mainstream economic literature, as well as in the historical process. This article is a reorganized form of a part of the doctoral thesis entitled "Unprofit Economic Model (A Analysis in the Framework of the DSGD Model)."
