The purpose of this study was to investigate the predictive role of teachers' personality traits on effective communication skills. In this research, using the relational screening model, the data were obtained with the Adjectives Based Personality Test and Effective Communication Skills Scale. Data were analyzed by using the t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation and multiple regression analysis. According to the results of the correlation analysis, it was found that the highest relationships between personality traits and effective communication skills were between levels of extraversion and empathy openness to experience and self-recognition/self-disclosure mildness and I-language. According to the results of multiple regression analysis, the variables of emotional instability / neurotism, extraversion, openness to experience, and mildness were significant predictors of effective communication skills of teachers. At the end of the research, suggestions for the development of positive personality traits of teachers were presented.
