Yerel ekonomik kalkınmada sosyal sermaye unsuru bileşenleri yardımıyla ülke kalkınmasına destek olmaktadır. Dünya Bankası sosyal sermaye ve ekonomik kalkınma arasında bulunan ilişkiyi “kayıp halka” olarak anlatmaktadır. Sermaye türleri ekonomik büyümeyi belli düzeyde etkilemektedir. Sosyal sermayede düşünceler bireylerden toplumlara, isteklerden kurallara yol alacak şekilde yeni bir düzene göre şekillenmiştir. Sosyal sermaye, bileşenleri yardımıyla ülke kalkınmasına destek olmaktadır. Sosyal güven, normlar ve sosyal ağların iyi ve yüksek oranda olması, gruplar arası gelir dağılımındaki adaletsizliğin azaltılmasında, firmaların iş verimliliğinin artmasında ve maliyetlerinin düşük olmasında, dolayısıyla bölgedeki yatırımların artışından etkileyici bir rol oynamaktadır. Çalışmada, Niğde ilinin Organize Sanayi Bölgesinde (OSB) 64 girişimcinin katılımıyla 30 soruluk anket çalışması yapılmış olup, OSB sosyal sermaye düzeyi araştırılmıştır. Yapılan analiz sonuçları doğrultusunda ankete katılan girişimcilerin Güven Endeks sonuçlarına göre %71,9 oranında yüksek düzeyde çıkmış, Network Endeks sonuçları ise %57,8 oranında orta düzeyde çıkmıştır. Karşılıklı yardımlaşma ve Ortak İş Birliği Endeks sonuçları %57,8 oranında orta düzeydedir. Bu bağlamda, sosyal sermayenin yerel ekonomik kalkınmaya pozitif etkileri; bireylerin güven unsurunu, sosyal ilişkilerini yükseltmek, karşılıklı gruplarla iletişim ve iş halinde bulunmasını sağlamak, dernek, vakıf ve birçok sivil toplum örgütüne katılım oluşturarak yerel kalkınmaya katkıda bulunmaktır.
In local economic development, the social capital components support the country’s development. The World Bank describes the relationship between social capital and economic development as "lost people". Capital types affect economic growth at a certain level. In social capital, the thoughts are formed according to a new order that leads from individuals to societies, from desires to rules. The social capital supports the development of the country with the help of its components. The good and high level of social trust, standards and social networks plays an impressive role in the reduction of injustice in the inter-group income distribution, in the increase in business efficiency and in the low cost, and therefore in the increase in investments in the region. In the study, 64 entrepreneurs participated in the Organized Industrial Area (OSB) of the province of Niğde, 30 question survey studies were conducted, and the level of social capital of the OSB was investigated. According to the results of the survey, entrepreneurs who participated in the survey were high at 71.9% according to the Trust Index results, while the Network Index results were high at 57.8% according to the average. The mutual aid and joint cooperation index results are at an average level of 57.8%. In this context, the positive effects of social capital on local economic development are: the element of confidence of individuals, enhancing their social relationships, ensuring that they communicate and work with mutual groups, and contributing to local development by forming associations, foundations and many civil society organizations.

Social capital supports the development of the country with the help of its components. The good and high level of social trust, norms, and social networks play an impressive role in reducing the inequality in income distribution between groups, increasing the work efficiency of companies, and lowering their costs, thus increasing the investments in the region. In the study, a 30-question survey was conducted with the participation of 64 entrepreneurs in the Organized Industrial Site (OIS) of Niğde province, and the social capital level of the OIS was investigated. In line with the results of the analysis, the Confidence Index results of the entrepreneurs participating in the survey were at a high level by 71.9%, while the Network Index results were at a medium level with a rate of 57.8%. Mutual Assistance and Joint Cooperation Index results are at a medium level with a rate of 57.8%. In this context, the positive effects of social capital on local economic development; to increase the trust and social relations of individuals, to ensure that they are in communication and business with mutual groups, to contribute to local development by participating in associations, foundations, and many non-governmental organizations.
