Abstract There are laws and decrees in our country about spatial accessibility in schools, but how is established the reality for physical education classes occur? This study aimed to analyze the infrastructure of state public schools in a municipality in Bahia concerning architectural accessibility, especially those for Physical Education classes. All elementary schools (final years) and high schools were analyzed using the adaptation of the Ministry of Education's “Spatial Accessibility Manual”. The path from the arrival at school to the court/patio was evaluated. The research showed that only two schools attended a maximum of 50% of the investigated items, while the others presented lower values. For Physical Education classes, items such as the tactile paving, the court with adapted space, and adapted drinking fountain next to the court were not included. In conclusion, the architectural accessibility in these schools is precarious, making inclusion in Physical Education classes difficult.
