The aim of this study is to determine the socio-cultural and economic status of students from the Balkans who study at Sakarya University. In order to find out this, 34 students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia were surveyed on quantitative research techniques and asked to answer 37 questions. The students' answers are interpreted by an illustrative analysis. The study concluded that Balkan countries’ students are not strangers to the social and cultural textures of Turkey and are members of social structures similar to Turkey. The most important fact that supports this claim is that the Ottoman history as a historical and cultural heritage in these countries is preserved as a result of the Ottoman Empire’s history of the Balkans.
