Abstract:

The concept of body literature is a recognizable idea that the concept of being healthy throughout life has a high relationship with the main objectives of body education and sport course. In this study, the body education teachers developed to measure the body literacy levels (Sum vd., 2016), the detected body literacy scale (ABOÖ) is aimed at assessing the validity and reliability related characteristics in the sample of Turkey. The study included 218 body education teachers selected with the easy-to-access sample method. For the structural validity of measurements, the Opening Factor Analysis (AFA) and the Verification Factor Analysis (DFA) have been used. For reliability, the test was used again test, internal consistency and material total correlation analysis. According to the results of the DFA, the original structure of the ABOÖ, which has 3 factors and 9 substances, has not been confirmed in the Turkish sample, but according to the AFA and DFA tests, with a different 3 factors and 9 expressive structure, the model’s conformity index is at a good and acceptable level. The achieved model has been identified that the conformity index is above the reference values. The three-factor structure has an estimated variance rate of 69,04, while the Cronbach’s Alpha reliability rate is .81. The research results showed that ABOÖ’s 3-factor 9 material structure is a measurement tool for teachers of body education in Turkey providing psychometric qualities to measure the levels of body literacy.
