Küresel covid 19 salgını ile eğitimde önemli bir yer edinmeye başlayan dijital öğrenme ortamlarının, pandemi sonrasında da eğitimde kalıcı olacağı tahmin edilmektedir. Uzaktan eğitime uyum sağlamaya çalışan eğitimciler ve öğrenciler için dijital öğrenme ortamları ile ilgili araştırmalar önem kazanmaktadır. Bireyselleştirilmiş öğretime dayalı uzaktan öğrenme ortamlarında öğrencilerin okuma becerilerinin gelişmiş olması başarıyı artıracaktır. Öğrencilerin okuduklarını daha iyi anlamlandırabilmeleri için, öğrenme ortamlarında okuma stratejileri ile ilgili çalışmalara ağırlık vermek gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Bu ihtiyaçtan yola çıkılarak bu çalışmada 2021-2022 Güz yarıyılında Çocuk Gelişimi önlisans programında yer alan “Çocukla İletişim” dersini uzaktan eğitim yoluyla daha verimli kılacak uygulamaları değerlendirmek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden eylem araştırması tercih edilmiştir. Araştırmacının uygulayıcı olarak yer aldığı bu araştırmada dersin öğrenme-öğretme sürecinde “okuma metinlerinin ve okuma stratejilerinin temele alındığı bir yaklaşım” benimsenmiş ve bu yaklaşıma uygun uygulamaların süreç boyunca yansımaları araştırılmıştır. Araştırma için 14 haftalık bir eylem planı hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmaya amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak farklı başarı seviyesi ve sınıflardan kırk öğrenci dahil edilmiştir. Öğrencilerden toplanan veriler; açık uçlu anketler, öğrenci ödevleri ve görüşmeler ile elde edilmiştir. Süreç boyunca öğrencilerden alınan geribildirimler doğrultusunda gerekli düzenlemeler yapılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, Çocukla İletişim dersinde okuma stratejilerinin kullanımına dayalı okuma metinlerinin temel alındığı bir uzaktan öğrenme sürecinin, öğrenci motivasyonuna ve dersin verimliliğine katkı sağladığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu sonuçlardan hareketle konuyla ilgili farklı araştırmalar yapılması ve farklı derslerde de benzer uygulamalar yapılması önerilmektedir.
The global covid 19 epidemic predicts that digital learning environments, which begin to gain an important place in education, will be permanent in education after the pandemic. Research on digital learning environments is increasingly important for educators and students seeking to adapt to distance learning. In a remote learning environment based on individualized teaching, the student’s reading skills will improve success. It is believed that in order for students to better understand what they read, it is necessary to emphasize the studies related to reading strategies in learning environments. Based on this need, this study aims to evaluate the practices that will make the course "Communication with the Child" included in the Pre-Bachelor's Programme for Child Development in the 2021-2022 semester more efficient through distance learning. The research methods are preferred from the research methods. In this study, the researcher was involved as a practitioner, the course adopted a "approximation on the basis of reading texts and reading strategies" in the learning-learning process and studied the reflections of the practices suitable for this approach throughout the process. A 14-week action plan is prepared for the research. Thirty students from different levels of success and classes were included using the research-purpose sampling method. The data collected from students is obtained through open-end surveys, student tasks and interviews. In the course of the course, the students received the necessary feedback. According to the research findings, a reading text based on the use of reading strategies in the Children’s Communication Course has been founded as a distance learning process contributes to the motivation of the student and the efficiency of the course. It is recommended to conduct different research on the subject and to do similar practices in different courses.
It is estimated that digital learning environments, which started to gain an important place in education with the global covid 19 epidemic, will be permanent in education after the pandemic. Research on digital learning environments is gaining importance for educators and students trying to adapt to distance education. In distance learning environments based on individualized instruction, students' improved reading skills will increase their success. It is thought that it is necessary to focus on studies on reading strategies in learning environments so that students can better understand what they read. Based on this need, in this study, it is aimed to evaluate the applications that will make the "Communication with the Child" course in the Child Development associate degree program in the 2021-2022 Fall semester more productive through distance education. In the study, action research, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred. In this study, in which the researcher was involved as a practitioner, "an approach based on reading texts and reading strategies" was adopted in the learning-teaching process of the course, and the reflections of the practices suitable for this approach throughout the process were investigated. A 14-week action plan was prepared for the research. Forty students from different achievement levels and classes were included in the research by using the purposeful sampling method. Data collected from students; were obtained through open-ended questionnaires, student assignments and interviews. Necessary adjustments were made in line with the feedback received from the students throughout the process. According to the research findings, it was concluded that a distance learning process based on reading texts based on the use of reading strategies in the Child Communication course contributed to student motivation and the efficiency of the course. Based on these results, it is recommended to conduct different studies on the subject and to make similar applications in different courses.
