Abstract:

This study was conducted in Turkey from 2007 to 2020 in the field of mathematical education, with the aim of a thematic study of the master's/doctoral theses on the subject of the education of special skilled students. The document examination technique, which is one of the quality research methods, has been used to this goal. The study sample consists of 53 master/doctoral theses, which are conducted in Turkey and can be reached from the YÖK Thesis Monitoring Center, written on the specified dates. The dissertations are studied in the context of the thematic analysis technique and the sampling/participant characteristics, the subject, the level of study, the year of publication, the universities they conduct, the method of the thesis, the data collection techniques. The vast majority of the theses studied within the framework of the research consists of the master's theses. The first thesis in this field was written in 2007 while the thesis in the years of progress was seen to increase. The topics studied appear to be more specifically skilled on the mathematical concerns/intelligence/attitude/self-capacity of students, mathematical creativity and problem-solving/building skills. As a result of the findings obtained, various recommendations were given to practitioners and researchers.
