Kent ve çevre sorunları, bir kentin yaşanabilirliği açısından dikkate alınması gereken önemli bir konudur. Her konuda olduğu gibi bu konuda da temel aktör insandır. Diğer bir ifade ile çevrenin sorunlu ya da sorunsuz olması, yaşanabilir veya yaşanamaz hale gelmesi insan eliyle olmaktadır. Bu açıdan insanlar yaptıkları tüm işlerinde aslında kendi geleceklerini tayin etmektedirler. Sağlıklı bir çevrede yaşam sürdürülebilmesi için toplumun tüm fertlerine düşen görevler vardır. Bu görevlerin, özellikle kent ve çevre sorunlarının giderilmesi özelinde düşünüldüğünde, adına “toplumsal duyarlılık” denebilir. Kısacası, kent kimliği, kent kültürü, yaşam biçimleri ve toplumsal duyarlılık ile sürdürülebilir bir çevre arasında doğru orantılı bir ilişki vardır. İşte bu çalışma, Antakya ölçeğinde kent ve çevre sorunları konusunda toplumsal duyarlılığın ne ölçüde var olduğu, bu konuda yapılan çalışmaların yeterli olup olmadığı, eğitim ve kurumsal ilişkilerin duyarlılığı artırıp artırmadığı, sorunların ve çözümlerin ne olduğu konusunda bir irdeleme yapmaktadır. Elde edilen veriler, frekans yöntemiyle değerlendirildikten sonra bir takım önerilere de yer verilmektedir.
Urban and environmental issues are an important issue to be taken into consideration in terms of the sustainability of a city. As in all matters, the main actor is the person. In other words, the environment is problematic or problemless, it becomes possible or impossible to live with the human hand. In this regard, people actually determine their own future in all the work they do. There is a duty to all members of the society to maintain a healthy environment. When considering these tasks, especially in addressing urban and environmental problems, it can be called "social sensitivity". In short, there is a properly proportionate relationship between city identity, city culture, lifestyle and social sensitivity and a sustainable environment. It is this study that makes an explanation of the extent of social sensitivity on urban and environmental issues on Antakya scale, whether the work on this issue is sufficient, whether the sensitivity of educational and corporate relations is increased or not, what the problems and solutions are. The data obtained, after being evaluated by the frequency method, is also included in a series of recommendations.
