Türkiye’de hemşirelik eğitimi lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora olmak üzere farklı diploma dereceleri ile verilmektedir. Bunlardan biri de İç Hastalıkları Hemşireliği Doktora eğitimidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı doktora eğitiminin hemşirelik mesleğinde önemini vurgulamak ve Türkiye’deki iç hastalıkları hemşireliği doktora eğitiminin yıllara göre yeni kayıt sayısı, mevcut öğrenci sayısı ve mezun öğrenci sayılarının incelenmesidir. 1999-2000 eğitim öğretim yılından itibaren 2016-2017 yılına kadar İç Hastalıkları Hemşireliği doktora programına ait veriler analiz edilmiştir. Bu verilerde yıllık yeni kayıt sayısı, mevcut öğrenci sayısı ve mezun öğrenci sayıları değerlendirilmiştir. 2013 yılına kadar olan veriler Ölçme, Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi’nden, daha sonraki yıllara ait veriler ise Yükseköğretim Kurulu’ndan alınmıştır. 2010 öncesi ve 2010 sonrasına ait dönemlerdeki yeni kayıt ve mezun sayıları iki farklı dönem olarak analiz edilmiştir. Buna göre 1999-2000 eğitim öğretim yılından 2009-2010 eğitim öğretim yılına kadar toplamda 74 yeni kayıtlı öğrenci ve 31 mezun öğrenci olduğu belirlenmiştir. 2010-2018 arası dönemde ise 2 yılın verileri eksik olmasına rağmen yeni kayıt ve mezun sayısı ise sırasıyla 116 ve 62 olduğu belirlenmiştir. İç Hastalıkları hemşireliği alanında doktora yapan öğrenci sayısında her geçen yıl artış olsa da İç Hastalıkları Hemşireliği Anabilim Dalı bazında eğitim veren kurum sayısı ve doktoralı öğrenci sayısının hâlen istendik seviyede olmadığı görülmüştür
In Turkey, nursing education is provided with different degrees of diploma, including bachelor's, master's and doctor's. One of them is the Doctor of Internal Disease Nursing training. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of doctoral education in nursing profession and the study of the number of new registrations, the number of current students and the number of graduate students according to the years of doctoral education in nursing in Turkey. From the 1999-2000 academic year to the 2016-2017 year, the data of the Doctoral Program in Internal Diseases Nursing have been analyzed. These data evaluate the annual number of new enrollments, the number of existing students and the number of graduate students. The data until 2013 were collected from the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center, and the data for the subsequent years from the Higher Education Board. The number of new registrations and graduates in the periods prior to 2010 and after 2010 was analyzed as two different periods. According to this, from the 1999-2000 academic year to the 2009-2010 academic year there were a total of 74 new registered students and 31 graduate students. In the period between 2010 and 2018, the data for 2 years were missing and the number of new enrollments and graduates was determined to be 116 and 62, respectively. Although the number of students who do doctorate in the field of internal diseases nursing increased every year, the number of institutions that educate in the field of internal diseases nursing and the number of doctorate students has not yet been at the desired level.
Nursing education in Turkey is given in different diploma degrees as a bachelor, master’s degree, and doctoral education. One of these is Internal Medicine Nursing Doctorate education. The aim of this study was to highlight the importance of doctoral training for the nursing profession and to present numbers of current students, new registry, and graduates from internal medicine nursing doctoral education according to years. Data from Internal Medicine Nursing PhD program from 1999-2000 academic year to 2016-2017 were examined. In this data, the number of new enrollments, the number of students, and the number of graduates are evaluated. The data up to 2013 were taken from Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center, and the data for the following years were received from the Council of Higher Education. The number of new registries and graduate students before and after 2010 was examined as two different periods. Accordingly, it was determined that there were 74 newly enrolled students and 31 graduate students in total, from 1999-2000 academic year to 20092010 academic year. In the following period between 2010-2018, although the data of 2 years are missing, the number of new registry and graduated students was 116 and 62, respectively. Although there is an increase in the number of students doing a doctorate in the field of Internal Medicine Nursing every year, it was seen that the number of institutions providing education on the basis of the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing and the number of doctoral students are still not at the desired level
